Our event began at approximately 5pm.  Members could enjoy refreshments from the stands located in the Oak Grove/ Maple Cove picnic areas we rented for the evening. A DJ was there as well playing background music for us to enjoy.

Saz’s catered a wonderful meal of picnic-like foods including brats, burgers, BBQ Rib sandwiches, potato salad, chips, fruit salad, baked beans, pickles, and cookies.

Once people finished eating, they were free to roam around the zoo. Since our event took place after normal zoo hours, we arranged for Big Cat Country, the Aquatic/Reptile building, and the Apes of Africa/ Primates of the World buildings opened.  The Northwestern Mutual Family Farm was also opened for kids to roam about in.

Aside from it being a bit chilly, many of the animals were still out for us to see.

The event came to a close at approximately 9pm.
